Organisation
The Assistant Commissioner (Counter Terrorism), Nick Kaldas, is responsible (as of May 2009) for both the Counter Terrorist Co-ordination Command (CTCC) and the State Protection Group (SPG), the former being headed by Detective Chief Superintendent Peter Dein, and the latter by Chief Superintendent Wayne Benson. The SPG currently consists of the following sections:
- Tactical Operations Unit (TOU)
- State Protection Support Units (SPSU)
- Negotiation Unit
- Intelligence Unit
- Police Rescue and Bomb Disposal Unit
- Police Armoury
- Dog Unit
