Star Wreck: in The Pirkinning - Ships

Ships

The ships used throughout the picture are near exact copies of the main ships and smaller fighting vessels from Star Trek and Babylon 5, only the names are comically different. The name of Pirk's own ship, the Enterprise-E clone Potkustart, is translated as Kickstart. The Excalibur from Crusade is "renamed" the Excavator. Babylon 5 Starfuries are renamed "Star Flurries", and Earthforce Omega Class Destroyers are referred to as "Amigo Class Destroyers" and bear unlikely homonymous parody names like Backgammon and Appalling (parodies of Agamemnon and Apollo from Babylon 5). Two of the Amigos are named after Finnish military figures, Mannerheim and Ehrnrooth, and one after a hero of Finnish mythology, Ilmarinen. One of the Finnish Navy flagships was also named as Ilmarinen.

Famous quotes containing the word ships:

Oh, let me midlife mourn by the shrined
    And druid herons’ vows
The voyage to ruin I must run,
    Dawn ships clouted aground,
Yet, though I cry with tumbledown tongue,
    Count my blessings aloud....
    Dylan Thomas (1914–1953)

I saw three ships come sailing by,
Come sailing by, come sailing by,
I saw three ships come sailing by,
On Christmas Day in the morning.
—Unknown. As I Sat on a Sunny Bank. . .

Oxford Book of Light Verse, The. W. H. Auden, ed. (1938)

Your mind and you are our Sargasso Sea,
London has swept about you this score years
And bright ships left you this or that in fee:
Ideas, old gossip, oddments of all things,
Strange spars of knowledge and dimmed wares of price.
    Ezra Pound (1885–1972)
