Game History
Star Wars MUSH was created in May 1991 and made publicly available by January 1992. The game's database was accidentally destroyed on April 15, 1994, leading to a game split that resulted in the creation of two other prominent Star Wars-themed MUSHes, Star Wars MUSH 2: A New Threat, later From the Ashes, and Star Wars MUSH 3: Minos Cluster, which went on to become Unsung Heroes, which continues as an active MUSH to this day.
After the crash, the MUSH re-opened to the public on May 21, 1994. On August 21, 1996, the players voted to move the game to a new server with a clean database, although most of the story elements and characters were carried over.

Famous quotes containing the words game and/or history:
“Vanessa wanted to be a ballerina. Dad had such hopes for her.... Corin was the academically brilliant one, and a fencer of Olympic standard. Everything was expected of them, and they fulfilled all expectations. But I was the one of whom nothing was expected. I remember a game the three of us played. Vanessa was the President of the United States, Corin was the British Prime Minister—and I was the royal dog.”
—Lynn Redgrave (b. 1943)
“Only the history of free peoples is worth our attention; the history of men under a despotism is merely a collection of anecdotes.”
—Sébastien-Roch Nicolas De Chamfort (1741–1794)
