The motto is Teneris Impende Laborem (Latin), meaning One/Xavierite is obligated to provide for hardship/work hard.

Three white bees are symbols of hard work and being busy always. The fruit of such labour is sweet.

IHS is written in the center of the sun. I means Iesu (Jesus), H is Hominem (mankind), and S is Salvatorous (Saviour). Jesus, saviour of mankind, is the symbol of the Society of Jesus (Jesuits) established by St. Ignatius of Loyola.

The moon is a symbol of the Society of Jesus
