The Parish Today
With 6 Masses each Sunday, attendance is still strong, averaging 1,150 people or 24% of the current registration of nearly 4,800 people. There are four English Masses and one Spanish Mass each Sunday Morning.
The fifth Sunday English Mass, which is commonly called the "last chance Mass" because it is the latest Mass available in the northeast part of Philadelphia, is celebrated at 8:00 P.M.
Two daily English Masses see an additional 200 or so people attending each day, many from the surrounding business community and the Navy Depot. St. William Parish also hosts a weekly Communion Service and Sunday communion calls at the Philadelphia Protestant Home which is a large retirement community within the parish that despite its name, has a very large population of Catholics.
A Weekly Sunday 4:00PM Mass is celebrated in the Urdu Language. This Mass is not a Parish Mass, but rather a Diocesan Mass celebrated for the Catholic Pakistani Community of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. St. William Parish has provided them with a church home for well over a decade. Their Priest, Fr. Dominic Issac, was recently named a Part-Time Vicar for the Parish of St. William in addition to his duties to the Pakistani Community and the Seaman's Institute.

“We have today and I could call their name
Who know exactly what is out of joint
To make their verse and their excuses lame.
Theyve tried to grasp with too much social fact
Too large a situation.”
