St Margaret's Bus Station - Services

Services

There are plenty of bus services that use St Margaret's Bus Station as well as long distance coach services. The majority of services are run by Arriva Leicester with the remainder of services run by Centrebus, Kinchbus, Roberts Coaches, Stagecoach in Northants and Travel de Courcey.

From St Margaret's, buses run to Burton-upon-Trent, Coalville, Coventry, Derby, East Midlands Airport, Hinckley, Loughborough, Market Harborough, Melton Mowbray, Northampton, Rugby and Swadlincote plus several parts of the Leicestershire area including Beaumont Shopping Centre, Blaby, Groby, Oadby, Ratby, South Wigston, Syston and Thurcaston.

In partnership with Germany's INIT, specialists in transportation telematics and fare collection systems, Leicester City Council also installed a Terminal Management System (TMS) to improve the performance of the bus station. The project has been considered extremely successful by both passengers and operators using the bus station.

Famous quotes containing the word services:

A good marriage ... is a sweet association in life: full of constancy, trust, and an infinite number of useful and solid services and mutual obligations.
    Michel de Montaigne (1533–1592)

Men will say that in supporting their wives, in furnishing them with houses and food and clothes, they are giving the women as much money as they could ever hope to earn by any other profession. I grant it; but between the independent wage-earner and the one who is given his keep for his services is the difference between the free-born and the chattel.
    Elizabeth M. Gilmer (1861–1951)

The community and family networks which helped sustain earlier generations have become scarcer for growing numbers of young parents. Those who lack links to these traditional sources of support are hard-pressed to find other resources, given the emphasis in our society on providing treatment services, rather than preventive services and support for health maintenance and well-being.
    Bernice Weissbourd (20th century)
