Other Activities

The end of year period of time at St. Joseph's College has always been very special for both the School Leavers and the College Administration. It is during this time that is held the School Leavers Mass followed by the eagerly awaited School Leavers Dinner and the End-of-Year Party, otherwise known as the Prom Night.

The college also organises admirable events such as the fancy fair which happens to be a tremendously huge success amongst all the other colleges on the island. A different aspect is easily conveyed on the very day of the fair, in comparison to the other fairs; amongst the activities, a magnificently inspiring show has been confined to a possibility of occurrence within the event as uniquely inspired entity, which is dubbed as the Student Folies whereby the sublime talent of the "Josephiens" are adroitly unveiled. The college is one amongst the national colleges on the heavenly-inspired island of Mauritius.

Famous quotes containing the word activities:

There is, I think, no point in the philosophy of progressive education which is sounder than its emphasis upon the importance of the participation of the learner in the formation of the purposes which direct his activities in the learning process, just as there is no defect in traditional education greater than its failure to secure the active cooperation of the pupil in construction of the purposes involved in his studying.
    John Dewey (1859–1952)

Juggling produces both practical and psychological benefits.... A woman’s involvement in one role can enhance her functioning in another. Being a wife can make it easier to work outside the home. Being a mother can facilitate the activities and foster the skills of the efficient wife or of the effective worker. And employment outside the home can contribute in substantial, practical ways to how one works within the home, as a spouse and as a parent.
    Faye J. Crosby (20th century)
