St John Plessington Catholic College - Catholic Ethos

Catholic Ethos

The School itself is names after a patron saint, and has a very strong Roman Catholic ethos which can be seen throughout the corridors and classrooms with posters. There is a twice weekly optional Mass in the School Chapel held by the School Chaplain. On 'holy days' Masses are held for the whole school by a local priest.

Famous quotes containing the words catholic and/or ethos:

Carlyle is not a seer, but a brave looker-on and reviewer; not the most free and catholic observer of men and events, for they are likely to find him preoccupied, but unexpectedly free and catholic when they fall within the focus of his lens.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)

Take the serious side of Disney, the Confucian side of Disney. It’s in having taken an ethos ... where you have the values of courage and tenderness asserted in a way that everybody can understand. You have got an absolute genius there. You have got a greater correlation of nature than you have had since the time of Alexander the Great.
    Ezra Pound (1885–1972)
