Coordinates: 50°03′00″N 5°17′13″W / 50.050°N 5.287°W / 50.050; -5.287 St Anthony or Santo António was a Portuguese carrack which foundered in Gunwalloe Bay, Cornwall, in 1527 en route from Lisbon to Antwerp. She had a mixed cargo including copper and silver ingots. The wreck was recorded historically, because the salvage of the cargo was the subject of an international dispute that led to a Court of Star Chamber, but the location of the wreck was unknown until 1981. The wreck is designated under the Protection of Wrecks Act.

Famous quotes containing the word anthony:

Oh, yes, I’d do it all again; the spirit is willing yet; I feel the same desire to do the work but the flesh is weak. It’s too bad that our bodies wear out while our interests are just as strong as ever.
    —Susan B. Anthony (1820–1906)
