History
In 1984, the government of India granted permission to start a self-financing polytechnic to the Sree Narayana Guru Educational Trust. Thus Sree Narayana Guru Polytechnic (SNGPC) was born. In 1994, the college expanded to offer courses in applied sciences and management studies, and the school was renamed Sree Narayana Guru College (SNGC). The management studies courses are offered through the Sree Narayana Guru Institute of Management Studies. Both these institutions are ISO 9000 2000 certified. The college is affiliated to Bharathiar University and approved by the government of Tamil Nadu.
