Squak Mountain - The Park

The Park

The well-signed trail system consists mostly of abandoned roads that are narrowing to single-track trails, more so each year. Famous quotes containing the word park:

Borrow a child and get on welfare.
Borrow a child and stay in the house all day with the child,
or go to the public park with the child, and take the child
to the welfare office and cry and say your man left you and
be humble and wear your dress and your smile, and don’t talk
    back ...
    Susan Griffin (b. 1943)

Is a park any better than a coal mine? What’s a mountain got that a slag pile hasn’t? What would you rather have in your garden—an almond tree or an oil well?
    Jean Giraudoux (1882–1944)
