Ladies who never walk in the woods, sail over the sea. To go to sea! Why, it is to have the experience of Noah,to realize the deluge. Every vessel is an ark.”
—Henry David Thoreau (18171862)
“The winds awaken, the leaves whirl round,
Our cheeks are pale, our hair is unbound,
Our breasts are heaving, our eyes are agleam,
Our arms are waving, our lips are apart....”
—William Butler Yeats (18651939)
“Whenever any form of government shall become destructive of these ends, it is the right of the people to alter or to abolish it, & to institute new government, laying its foundation on such principles & organising its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their safety & happiness.”
—Thomas Jefferson (17431826)
