Split Album

A split album (or split) is a music album which includes tracks by two or more separate artists. There have been singles and EPs released in the same nature, which can be referred to as split singles and split EPs respectively. Splits differ from "various artists" compilation albums in that they generally include several tracks of each artist, instead of multiple artists with only one or two tracks.

Famous quotes containing the words split and/or album:

Let my hands find such symbols, that can be
Unnoticed in the casual light of day,
Lying in wait for half a century
To split chance lives across, that had not dreamed
Such coasts had echoed, or such seabirds screamed.
    Philip Larkin (1922–1986)

What a long strange trip it’s been.
Robert Hunter, U.S. rock lyricist. “Truckin’,” on the Grateful Dead album American Beauty (1971)
