Music Video
The accompanying music video for "Spinning Around", directed by Dawn Shadforth, was shot in two days. The video, often considered a metamorphosis in Minogue's career, portrays her accented by a tiny pair of gold lamé hot pants, dancing at a nightclub. The pants were found by Minogue's friend at a market, and were bought for about 50p. Minogue later revealed the inspiration and idea behind the music video:
"One of my producers said he really liked video for 'Some Kind of Bliss' and when I asked why, he said, 'Well, it was the little denim hot pants.' So I made a mental note. The concept for the 'Spinning Around' video is basically people having fun in a night-club and I just thought: 'Hot Pants!'"

Famous quotes containing the words music and/or video:
“The average educated man in America has about as much knowledge of what a political idea is as he has of the principles of counterpoint. Each is a thing used in politics or music which those fellows who practise politics or music manipulate somehow. Show him one and he will deny that it is politics at all. It must be corrupt or he will not recognize it. He has only seen dried figs. He has only thought dried thoughts. A live thought or a real idea is against the rules of his mind.”
—John Jay Chapman (18621933)
“It is among the ranks of school-age children, those six- to twelve-year-olds who once avidly filled their free moments with childhood play, that the greatest change is evident. In the place of traditional, sometimes ancient childhood games that were still popular a generation ago, in the place of fantasy and make- believe play . . . todays children have substituted television viewing and, most recently, video games.”
—Marie Winn (20th century)
