Famous quotes containing the words early and/or life:

At the earliest ending of winter,
In March, a scrawny cry from outside
Seemed like a sound in his mind.
He knew that he heard it,
A bird’s cry, at daylight or before,
    In the early March wind.
    Wallace Stevens (1879–1955)

I felt more than ever the necessity of my mission. But I went home out of spirits, I hardly know why. I must work by myself all life long.
    Elizabeth Blackwell (1821–1910)
