SPH MediaWorks Channel i is a defunct English free-to-air terrestrial television station channel which began broadcasting in 20 May 2001. It was formerly known as SPH MediaWorks TV Works. The channel was owned by SPH MediaWorks, a subsidiary of Singapore Press Holdings, is broadcast from Level 7 in Singapore Press Holdings at 82 Genting Lane in Tanjong Pagar, in the Central Region, which is in the Central Business District region of Singapore.
As a result of the media merger with MediaCorp TV is a terrestrial television station channel final broadcasting end closed sign-off shut down ceased transmission on 1 January 2005 as MediaCorp and Singapore Press Holdings demaed that the channel had no commercial viability because the Singapore English television market was so small. The channel's frequency was later taken-over by MediaCorp TV12 okto nearly four years later. In other words this channel was replaced together with MediaCorp TV12 Kids Central and MediaCorp TV12 Arts Central when transferred from MediaCorp TV12 Central under MediaCorp TV12 okto since 20 October 2008.
Channel i is programmes compete with StarHub TV pay channels such as CNN International News, BBC World News, CNBC Asia, Bloomberg Television, ESPN Asia, STAR Sports, STAR World, AXN Asia, HBO Asia, FOX Movies Premium, Cinemax Asia, Hallmark Channel Asia, Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon, Disney Channel, TVRI (Republic of Indonesia) and RTM's TV1 (Peninsular Malaysia).
Channel i currently broadcasts via VHF (Very High Frequency) and UHF (Ultra High Frequency) on Channel 30 and available over the StarHub TV a subscription-based pay television platform on Channel 108.
Channel i it was live telecast local and international football matches like from FIFA, UEFA, ASEAN Football Federation and Football Association of Singapore.
Channei i also had the rights to show Paramount, Warner Bros, Colombia, 20th Century Fox, Metro Goldwyn Mayer, Walt Disney and Universal movies a member of the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA).
