Modern Pentathlon
Three male pentathletes represented the Soviet Union in 1980. Anatoly Starostin won an individual gold, Pavel Lednev won an individual silver and they also won the team gold.
Individual Competition:
- Anatoly Starostin — 5568 pts → 1 ! Gold Medal
- Pavel Lednev — 5382 pts → 3 ! Bronze Medal
- Evegeny Lipeev — 5176 pts → 14th place
Team Competition:
- Anatoly Starostin, Pavel Lednev, and Evegeny Lipeev — 16126 pts → 1 ! Gold Medal
