South Point School (India) - School Emblem, Motto, Song and Prayer

School Emblem, Motto, Song and Prayer

The school motto is Courage to Know, as illustrated in the school's emblem. The emblem itself is that of a Paloma, symbolising the holy spirit. This is printed on all school shirts, sweaters, blazers, laboratory coats, Physical Education and athletic uniforms as well as school satchels, note book covers and other articles.

  • The school song:

We'll never stop, Pointers one and all
We have work at hand, and that is our call
We will never turn away from those in need
We'll help everyone, that is our creed.
We are the Pointers, ready to grow
We are the Pointers, with "Courage to Know"
We are the Pointers, challenges we'll face
We'll make our mark in the human race.

  • Prayer:

Dear God,
Thank you for everything;
Bless me and help me to be good,
And to do my studies well.

The two songs of South Point

Sharing:

Sharing, If we would all keep sharing, Sharing all the things we have Oh! What joy, what peace And contentment, if we would Keep sharing all we have

Our god bids us shine:

Our god bids us shine with a pure clear light, Like a little candle burning in the night; In this world of darkness so we must shine, You in your small corner and I in mine!

Our God bids us shine, First of all for him; When he sees and knows it if our lights grow dim, He looks down from heaven, to see us shine, You in your small corner and I in mine!

Famous quotes containing the words school, song and/or prayer:

The difference between de jure and de facto segregation is the difference open, forthright bigotry and the shamefaced kind that works through unwritten agreements between real estate dealers, school officials, and local politicians.
    Shirley Chisholm (b. 1924)

I describe family values as responsibility towards others, increase of tolerance, compromise, support, flexibility. And essentially the things I call the silent song of life—the continuous process of mutual accommodation without which life is impossible.
    Salvador Minuchin (20th century)

Prayer is the fair and radiant daughter of all the human virtues, the arch connecting heaven and earth, the sweet companion that is alike the lion and the dove; and prayer will give you the key of heaven. As pure and as bold as innocence, as strong as all things are that are entire and single, this fair and invincible queen rests on the material world; she has taken possession of it; for, like the sun, she casts about it a sphere of light.
    HonorĂ© De Balzac (1799–1850)
