Chorus
The magnet Chorus program is made up of three performance group, of which have won multiple awards in the past decade from FFMC and MPA. These are the Mixed Choir, the Girl's Beginning Chorus, and the Vocal Ensemble. All of which learn repertoire throughout the year and perform at the three concerts the program produces every school year. Some students (those in the Ensemble and Vocal Technique classes) learn solos and small ensemble pieces which they compete with and perform at state- and regional-level conventions, as well as a select few at concerts. All students take a required theory class in their 6th grade year, or whichever year they enter the school, and learn how to play the piano at a beginners level.

Famous quotes containing the word chorus:
“Laughter on American television has taken the place of the chorus in Greek tragedy.... In other countries, the business of laughing is left to the viewers. Here, their laughter is put on the screen, integrated into the show. It is the screen that is laughing and having a good time. You are simply left alone with your consternation.”
—Jean Baudrillard (b. 1929)
“Come on, clown, sing us a chorus of Pagliacci.”
—Stanley Kubrick (b. 1928)
“He is a Presbyterian first and an artist second, which is just as comfortable as trying to be a Presbyterian first and a chorus girl second.”
—H.L. (Henry Lewis)
