South Coast Highway

South Coast Highway is a Western Australia highway. It is a part of the Highway 1 network.

With a length of 605 kilometres (376 mi), it runs from Esperance to Albany roughly in parallel to the Western Australia's south coast. Even then the journey from Esperance to Albany is pretty much inland.

However, some 40 kilometres from Ravensthorpe, lies the Fitzgerald River National Park with beaches, coastal and mountain walking trails and wildflowers. There are 3 more national parks with abundant wildlife along the journey to Walpole. Albany is a former whaling town and is rich in history.

Beyond Albany, Highway 1 continues as South Western Highway to Perth.

    William Howard Taft (1857–1930)

They extol the virtues of ice creams, shoe creams, cold creams;...
