Song For Shelter / Ya Mama - "Song For Shelter"

"Song For Shelter"

"Song for Shelter" is the first song on the single and the final and longest song on the album Halfway Between the Gutter and the Stars, lasting nearly 11 minutes, with the last two minutes being the track "Talkin' bout My Baby (Reprise)". The song features Roger Sanchez and Roland Clark. A remix for the song by The Chemical Brothers was made and released as a separate single.

The song's vocals are sampled from Roland Clark's song "I Get Deep". The song was featured over the credits on a Green Wing. The track was perhaps intentionally unfitting to the surreal final scenes of the episode played beneath the credits.

Famous quotes containing the words song and/or shelter:

In winter, when the fields are white,
I sing this song for your delight—
Lewis Carroll [Charles Lutwidge Dodgson] (1832–1898)

To be shelterless and alone in the open country, hearing the wind moan and watching for day through the whole long weary night; to listen to the falling rain, and crouch for warmth beneath the lee of some old barn or rick, or in the hollow of a tree; are dismal things—but not so dismal as the wandering up and down where shelter is, and beds and sleepers are by thousands; a houseless rejected creature.
    Charles Dickens (1812–1870)
