Production
- During a flashback wherein Robin thinks Ted is proposing to her, it turns out the ring belongs to another couple. That on-screen proposal is real, and by the real couple, Timothy Russo and Jana Rugan. The couple were friends of writer Matt Kuhn, and huge fans of the show. They were brought in specifically so Russo could propose to Rugan on-set. For rehearsal takes of the scene, two actors played out the engagement with a prop ring, then for the real take Tim delivered the "it's mine" line and really sprang a surprise proposal on his startled girlfriend with the genuine ring. Rugan's acceptance had to be dubbed in post-production due to her being overcome in emotion at being asked. As part of the DVD special feature,Empty citation‎ (help) Cobie Smulders and Josh Radnor humorously re-enact the proposal in a ribald way that could have ruined the take for airing. Radnor describes the proposal in his TV Guide blog.
- The DVD extras include a scene titled How It Really Happened: Showdown (1:08). Barney reads a toast at the wedding but completely forgets to mention the bride and groom.

Famous quotes containing the word production:
“The repossession by women of our bodies will bring far more essential change to human society than the seizing of the means of production by workers.”
—Adrienne Rich (b. 1929)
“Just as modern mass production requires the standardization of commodities, so the social process requires standardization of man, and this standardization is called equality.”
—Erich Fromm (19001980)
“The problem of culture is seldom grasped correctly. The goal of a culture is not the greatest possible happiness of a people, nor is it the unhindered development of all their talents; instead, culture shows itself in the correct proportion of these developments. Its aim points beyond earthly happiness: the production of great works is the aim of culture.”
—Friedrich Nietzsche (18441900)
