Soaring Eagle Casino

The Soaring Eagle Casino and Resort is a casino, hotel and entertainment venue owned and operated by the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe, located just outside of Mt. Pleasant, Michigan. The geographic coordinates of the main building are 43°36′29″N 84°42′45″W / 43.608167°N 84.712567°W / 43.608167; -84.712567.

The casino offers a typical selection of pit and table games such as blackjack, roulette, craps, 3 card poker and Let It Ride with betting limits ranging from $5-$1000. In addition to slot machines in the main casino, there is an additional nearby gaming hall called the "Slot Palace" where Bingo and Keno are offered.

Soaring Eagle also features an 18 table poker room, open 24 hours a day, which spreads popular games such as Texas Hold'em, 7 Card Stud, and Omaha Hi-Lo, with limits ranging from $3/$6 to $10/$20 for limit poker and $1/$2 for no limit poker. The poker room also introduced a bad beat jackpot. Texas Hold 'Em tournaments run weekly, ranging from $0 to $150 entry fee.

The legal age to gamble in the casino is 18 years old; however, the drinking age is still 21 and is strictly enforced. The Saginaw Chippewa Tribe lowered the entry age limit so that younger people could enter and watch the concerts and shows that go on throughout the year, in addition, the proximity to college campuses in the area adds a new audience to the casino. The casino also offers an arcade for children called CyberQuest as well as a daycare center.

The UAW is currently attempting to organize casino workers and the management has hired LRI (Labor Relations Institute) to fight the organization campaign. The Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe maintains that the National Labor Relations Board has no jurisdiction over tribal gaming operations.
