Snakes & Arrows Tour

Snakes & Arrows Tour

Rush began the Snakes & Arrows Tour to promote the album, Snakes & Arrows on June 13, 2007 in Atlanta, Georgia. The 2007 tour came to a close on October 29, 2007 at Hartwall Arena in Helsinki, Finland. The 2008 portion of the tour started on April 11, 2008 in San Juan, Puerto Rico at José Miguel Agrelot Coliseum and ended on July 24, 2008 in Noblesville, Indiana at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre. The tour was Rush's most successful to date, grossing nearly $65 million. At 113 shows, this is the second longest tour Rush has done (superseded only by the Hemispheres tour).

Rush released the live CD, Snakes & Arrows Live on April 15, 2008, documenting the 2007 leg. The two-disc CD contains the entire 2007 setlist recorded over two days in Rotterdam, Netherlands. The album features the song "Distant Early Warning" in place of "Summertime Blues".

During this tour, Rush once again used their connections to add humor to their performances. "The Larger Bowl (A Pantoum)" featured an intro from SCTV's own Bob and Doug McKenzie, while "Tom Sawyer" was preceded by an intro from South Park characters Cartman, Stan, Kyle, and Kenny.

Famous quotes containing the words snakes, arrows and/or tour:

Granddaddy used to handle snakes in church. Granny drank strychnine. I guess you could say I had a leg up, genetically speaking.
Wesley Strick, U.S. screenwriter, and Martin Scorsese. Max Cady (Robert DeNiro)

O that my vexation were weighed, and all my calamity laid in the balances! For then it would be heavier than the sand of the sea; therefore my words have been rash. For the arrows of the Almighty are in me; my spirit drinks their poison; the terrors of God are arrayed against me.
    Bible: Hebrew, Job 6:2-5.

Do you know I believe that [William Jennings] Bryan will force his nomination on the Democrats again. I believe he will either do this by advocating Prohibition, or else he will run on a Prohibition platform independent of the Democrats. But you will see that the year before the election he will organize a mammoth lecture tour and will make Prohibition the leading note of every address.
    William Howard Taft (1857–1930)
