Smart Mark Video

Smart Mark Video (SMV) is an American video production and distribution house. It was founded in 1998 by Mike Burns and a group of friends involved in the operation of the now defunct Future Wrestling Alliance independent professional wrestling promotion. VHS releases of FWA events, as well as events for other local promotions like IPW and EWF, were among SMV's initial forays into video distribution. After the folding of the FWA in November, 2000, Burns and company concentrated on acquiring more clients as well as consumers for its video-related services. In 2012, SMV started airing live internet pay-per-view's (iPPV) on its website, starting with Chikara's Under the Hood on December 2. SMV tested the new format with two "free-per-views" held by Chikara's sister promotion Wrestling is Fun! (WiF!).

Famous quotes containing the words smart, mark and/or video:

I never met anyone who didn’t have a very smart child. What happens to these children, you wonder, when they reach adulthood?
    Fran Lebowitz (20th century)

If it is the mark of the artist to love art before everything, to renounce everything for its sake, to think all the sweet human things of life well lost if only he may attain something, do some good, great work—then I was never an artist.
    Ellen Terry (1847–1928)

These people figured video was the Lord’s preferred means of communicating, the screen itself a kind of perpetually burning bush. “He’s in the de-tails,” Sublett had said once. “You gotta watch for Him close.”
    William Gibson (b. 1948)
