Career
"Slavi" as he is known among the supporters in Bulgaria, started his career in his home town Stara Zagora, playing for one of the oldest teams in Bulgaria Beroe. Between 1996 and 1998 Zhekov played in Bulgarian B PFG with FC Olimpic, team from little city Teteven. In June 1998 he signed with PFC Chernomorets Burgas. For three years in Burgas Zhekov played in 62 caps and scored 8 goals.
In 2001 he returned in Stara Zagora and helped on Beroe to qualified for top division. Because of his good displays he caught eye of Cherno More scouts and signed for Cherno More in June 2001 for fee of 100 000 €. After two years in Varna, in 2003 Zhekov returned in Beroe, but in 2005 gone again in Cherno More.
In season 2007/2008 played for PFC Lokomotiv Stara Zagora and in June 2008 signed again for four times in your career with Beroe.
