Slave Zero - Critical Reception

Critical Reception

While the game received mixed reviews from critics, player reviews were overwhelmingly negative, especially for the Dreamcast version. GameSpot, Game Revolution, and IGN all criticized the game's failure to create any sense of being a giant robot on the rampage in a city, as well as the lack of combat depth or replay value. IGN and Game Revolution additionally criticized the Dreamcast version for its extremely poor frame rate, lack of in-game music, and conspicuous game-crashing bugs. However, GameSpot and IGN both praised the game's selection of weapon upgrades, and GameSpot also argued that the Boss battles are both unique and memorable.

Famous quotes containing the words critical and/or reception:

An audience is never wrong. An individual member of it may be an imbecile, but a thousand imbeciles together in the dark—that is critical genius.
    Billy Wilder (b. 1906)

I gave a speech in Omaha. After the speech I went to a reception elsewhere in town. A sweet old lady came up to me, put her gloved hand in mine, and said, “I hear you spoke here tonight.” “Oh, it was nothing,” I replied modestly. “Yes,” the little old lady nodded, “that’s what I heard.”
    Gerald R. Ford (b. 1913)
