Overview
Sky Force began in 1954 and is a comprehensive, church-based youth ministry program for Evangelical churches, designed for children and youth from ages four to fourteen. The national board provides program design, promotion, planning and materials for its membership. The program includes fun activities and spiritual teaching in a positive environment which encourages personal practical and spiritual growth and achievement.
Features specific or distinctive to the program include:
- Canadian designed and operated
- co-educational groups
- uniforms and badges
- extremely flexible programming
- particular appeals to small or independent churches
- strong emphasis on supplying affordable materials
- development of activities and materials for the program by members is encouraged
- Canadian Air Force themes (although these have declined in usage over the years)
