Six Feet Under (band) - Musical Style

Musical Style

Chris formed Six Feet Under with the intention of writing death metal that wasn't simply about blast beats and speed. They play a more groove oriented style of death metal, performing slower, or mid-tempo paced songs than most death metal acts. Barnes' lyrical style has changed little since his departure from Cannibal Corpse, though the lyrical content is not as shocking (i.e. killing women, children, etc.) as that of his first band. Today, Chris writes about violence, gore and death, with some political leanings, such as the legality of marijuana and criticism of the government.

Famous quotes containing the words musical and/or style:

A pregnant woman and her spouse dream of three babies—the perfect four-month-old who rewards them with smiles and musical cooing, the impaired baby, who changes each day, and the mysterious real baby whose presence is beginning to be evident in the motions of the fetus.
    T. Berry Brazelton (20th century)

Everything ponderous, viscous, and solemnly clumsy, all long- winded and boring types of style are developed in profuse variety among Germans—forgive me the fact that even Goethe’s prose, in its mixture of stiffness and elegance, is no exception, being a reflection of the “good old time” to which it belongs, and a reflection of German taste at a time when there still was a “German taste”Ma rococo taste in moribus et artibus.
    Friedrich Nietzsche (1844–1900)
