Famous quotes containing the words sir and/or hercules:
“Give me the critic bred in Nature’s school,
Who neither talks by rote, nor thinks by rule;
Who feeling’s honest dictates still obeys,
And dares, without a precedent, to praise.”

As stairs of sand, wear yet upon their chins
The beards of Hercules and frowning Mars,
Who, inward searched, have livers white as milk!”
