Siobhan Davies Dance Company

Siobhan Davies Dance is one of the UK's leading contemporary dance companies founded in 1988 by Siobhan Davies, previously a dancer and choreographer with the London Contemporary Dance Theatre. She was also Associate Choreographer for Rambert Dance Company during Richard Alston's directorship.

After a 17-year long peripatetic existence, the company moved to the new Siobhan Davies Studios in Southwark, London, in January 2006. The building regularly hosts visiting companies, artists and events. It also runs a programme of classes and workshops. The touring company produces and performs the work of Siobhan Davies. In addition to touring in the UK and abroad, the company regularly takes part in the annual Dance Umbrella season.

Famous quotes containing the words davies, dance and/or company:

And as the sun above the light doth bring,
Though we behold it in the air below,
So from th’ eternal Light the soul doth spring,
Though in the body she her powers do show.
    —Sir John Davies (1569–1626)

Mr. Lincoln at least you’re a man of honor. You said you wanted to dance with me in the worst way, and I must say that you’ve kept your word. That’s the worst way I’ve ever seen.
    Lamar Trotti (1898–1952)

There is no such thing as “the Queen’s English.” The property has gone into the hands of a joint stock company and we own the bulk of the shares!
Mark Twain [Samuel Langhorne Clemens] (1835–1910)
