Young Single Adult Wards

A ward in the LDS Church is usually geographically constructed, but exceptions are made such as for wards for a specific language or for young single adults. Formerly, the LDS Church maintained student wards and singles wards, but now young single adults, depending on their location, may have the option to attend a 'young single adult ward' composed of other unmarried singles ages 18-30.

Famous quotes containing the words young, single, adult and/or wards:

    ... the girls who came at dawn
    To pay a visit to the young child, and how, when he grew up to be a man
    The same restive ceremony replaced the limited years between,
    Only now he was old, and forced to begin the journey to the sun.
    John Ashbery (b. 1927)

    the whole field is a
    white desire, empty, a single stem;
    a cluster, flower by flower,
    a pious wish to whiteness gone over—
    or nothing.
    William Carlos Williams (1883–1963)

    The quickness with which all the “stuff” from childhood can reduce adult siblings to kids again underscores the strong and complex connections between brothers and sisters.... It doesn’t seem to matter how much time has elapsed or how far we’ve traveled. Our brothers and sisters bring us face to face with our former selves and remind us how intricately bound up we are in each other’s lives.
    Jane Mersky Leder (20th century)

    Only by obedience to his genius; only by the freest activity in the way constitutional to him, does an angel seem to arise before a man, and lead him by the hand out of all the wards of the prison.
    Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882)
