Single Adult - Young Single Adult

Young single adult (abbreviated YSA) is a category used in the LDS Church to describe an unmarried adult between the ages of 18 and 30. The primary aim of the YSA program within the church is to provide single members with the opportunity to meet people they would like to date, and hopefully marry, who share the same beliefs and goals in life.

There are many activities arranged within the church where the YSA can mingle amongst each other, get to know one another better and spend time with people of their own age group, standards, and beliefs. The activities range from fun based activities such as dances or weekend conferences, to religious instruction such as Institute of Religion classes or firesides.

Famous quotes containing the words young, single and/or adult:

    Though I am young and cannot tell
    Either what death or love is well,
    Yet I have heard they both bear darts,
    And both do aim at human hearts:
    And then again, I have been told,
    Love wounds with heat, as death with cold;
    Ben Jonson (1572–1637)

    Think of admitting the details of a single case of the criminal court into our thoughts, to stalk profanely through their very sanctum sanctorum for an hour, ay, for many hours! to make a very barroom of the mind’s inmost apartment, as if for so long the dust of the street had occupied us,—the very street itself, with all its travel, its bustle, and filth, had passed through our thoughts’ shrine! Would it not be an intellectual and moral suicide?
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)

    For most of my adult life, I have been an emotional hit-and- run driver—that is, a reporter. I made people like me, trust me, open their hearts and their minds to me, and cry and bleed on to the pages of my neat little notebooks, and then I went back to a safe place and made a story out of it.
    Anna Quindlen (b. 1952)
