Single-wire Earth Return - Use By Developing Nations

Use By Developing Nations

At present, certain developing nations have adopted SWER systems as their mains electricity systems, notably Laos, South Africa and Mozambique. SWER is also used extensively in Brazil where it is termed “Redes Monofilares com Retorno por Terra” or “MRT”. There are detailed standards and drawings available in Brazilian Portuguese that would be transferable to other Portuguese speaking countries such as Angola and Mozambique.

Famous quotes containing the words developing and/or nations:

Every society consists of men in the process of developing from children into parents. To assure continuity of tradition, society must early prepare for parenthood in its children; and it must take care of the unavoidable remnants of infantility in its adults. This is a large order, especially since a society needs many beings who can follow, a few who can lead, and some who can do both, alternately or in different areas of life.
    Erik H. Erikson (1904–1994)

Poetry is the most direct and simple means of expressing oneself in words: the most primitive nations have poetry, but only quite well developed civilizations can produce good prose. So don’t think of poetry as a perverse and unnatural way of distorting ordinary prose statements: prose is a much less natural way of speaking than poetry is. If you listen to small children, and to the amount of chanting and singsong in their speech, you’ll see what I mean.
    Northrop Frye (1912–1991)
