Over 62% of the graduates received two or more job offers. The average monthly salary among SMU graduates in full-time jobs was $3,388, an improvement of 3.8% over 2010's figure of $3,271, and the highest for SMU graduates since its first cohort graduated in 2004. In addition, the top 20 per cent of its graduates, usually those working in financial institutions, took home an average salary of $5,039. Famous quotes containing the words graduate and/or employment:

1946: I go to graduate school at Tulane in order to get distance from a “possessive” mother. I see a lot of a red-haired girl named Maude-Ellen. My mother asks one day: “Does Maude-Ellen have warts? Every girl I’ve known named Maude-Ellen has had warts.” Right: Maude-Ellen had warts.
    Bill Bouke (20th century)

As long as learning is connected with earning, as long as certain jobs can only be reached through exams, so long must we take this examination system seriously. If another ladder to employment was contrived, much so-called education would disappear, and no one would be a penny the stupider.
    —E.M. (Edward Morgan)
