Famous quotes containing the words rescuing and/or americans:

Photography does not create eternity, as art does; it embalms time, rescuing it simply from its proper corruption.
    André Bazin (1918–1958)

In the two centuries that have passed since 1776, millions upon millions of Americans have worked and taken up arms, when necessary, to make [the American] dream a reality. Gerald R. Ford (b. 1913)
