Martial artist Bruce Lee's ancestral roots can be found in Gwan'on (Jun'an) in Seundak (Shunde). There is a street in the village named after Bruce Lee where his ancestral home is situated. The home is open for public access.
The former Lord Mayor of Melbourne, John So is from Shunde. Lee Shau Kee and Yang Guoqiang two of the many famous real estate developers from Shunde and among the wealthiest men in the world.
