Shobhit University was established at Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, India by NICE Society (established 1989) in November 2006 as Shobhit Institute of Engineering & Technology. It was established with a vision to develop a centre of excellence in the emerging areas of technology.
The college was later declared as a Deemed-to-be University by the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India under section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956.
The university is under the leadership of a team of social workers, professionals and educationists.
