Character Design
Sheva Alomar, described as a "new major protagonist", has already existed at the early development phase of Resident Evil 5, but her face and background changed several times while she underwent much of redesign and re-imagining in the search for the right look "to combine two qualities, feminine attraction and the strength of a fighting woman." In fact, in-game models of Sheva have been created for some of the prior ideas that involve her being a civilian, a guerrilla or a military commander. Her character model was based on Australian actress Michelle Van Der Water but her voice and motions were performed by Karen Dyer.
