Athletics

The Sherwood Warriors varsity football team has won a several Maryland state championships, including 1995, 1996 and most recently, 2008. The Warriors also made it to the state finals but lost to Suitland High School in 2006, Damascus High School in 2005, to Parkdale High School in 2002, and to Gaithersburg High School in 2000. O n December 5, 2008, they defeating Linganore High School 21-3 and won the 4A state title with the first undefeated record in school history at 14-0.

The boys soccer team won the 2004 and 2005 Maryland Public Secondary Schools Athletic Association championships.

The boys varsity lacrosse team has won several divisional titles, and they won the 2003 regional championship.

In the 2008 baseball season, Sherwood was the Maryland 4A State Champions, after finishing runner-up in 2007 to Eleanor Roosevelt High School.

In fall 2003, the boys varsity cross-country team won the state championship for the first time in nearly 25 years. In 2006 they placed second in the state meet.

The Sherwood varsity basketball team won the 4A Maryland State Championship, held at the Comcast Center at the University of Maryland, College Park, on March 10, 2007.

On February 9, 2008, Warriors' Pom Squad won the Division I-West title. On November 22, 2008, the varsity cheerleaders placed first in the MCPS Cheerleading Competition. Sherwood Cheerleading last won the MCPS championship in 2005.

In February 2011, the Sherwood Pom Squad were the Division 1 Champions backed by an undefeated season.

The Girls Volleyball team has one states for three years in a row (2010,2011,2012).

The 2012 Girls Softball team won states.
