  • Four town districts: Douglas (borough), Castletown, Peel and Ramsey
  • Five village districts: Onchan, Michael, Laxey, Port Erin and Port St Mary

Famous quotes containing the words isle and/or man:

    She carries in the dishes,
And lays them in a row.
To an isle in the water
    With her would I go.
    William Butler Yeats (1865–1939)

The newspapers are the ruling power. Any other government is reduced to a few marines at Fort Independence. If a man neglects to read the Daily Times, government will go down on its knees to him, for this is the only treason these days.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)
