Shawn Lane - Health and 2003 Death

Health and 2003 Death

Lane had psoriasis throughout his life. After age twelve, he also suffered from psoriatic arthritis, which caused stiffness in his guitar playing only after 2000. His psoriasis was treated with hydrocortisone, which caused his weight to increase. In 2003, Lane was told that he would have to remain on medical oxygen for the rest of his life.

Lane died in a hospital in Memphis on September 26, 2003 of lung-related illnesses. His body was buried at the Memorial Park Cemetery in Memphis.

Famous quotes containing the words health and/or death:

To get time for civic work, for exercise, for neighborhood projects, reading or meditation, or just plain time to themselves, mothers need to hold out against the fairly recent but surprisingly entrenched myth that “good mothers” are constantly with their children. They will have to speak out at last about the demoralizing effect of spending day after day with small children, no matter how much they love them.
—Wendy Coppedge Sanford. Ourselves and Our Children, by Boston Women’s Health Book Collective, introduction (1978)

Your father was ever virtuous, and holy men at their death have good inspirations.
    William Shakespeare (1564–1616)
