Creative Commons

As with all six licences in the current Creative Commons suite, CC Attribution-ShareAlike and CC Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike require attribution. According to Creative Commons, the advantage of this license is that future users are not able to add new restrictions to a derivative of your work; their derivatives must be licensed the same way.

The 3.0 version of the ShareAlike licenses had an added a compatibility clause, allowing Creative Commons to declare a license compatible with one of their ShareAlike licences, allowing it to be used instead of exactly the same license for derivatives.

Famous quotes containing the words creative and/or commons:

All in all, the creative act is not performed by the artist alone; the spectator brings the work in contact with the external world by deciphering and interpreting its inner qualifications and thus adds his contribution to the creative act. This becomes even more obvious when posterity gives its final verdict and sometimes rehabilitates forgotten artists.
    Marcel Duchamp (1887–1968)

Anybody who enjoys being in the House of Commons probably needs psychiatric care.
    Ken Livingstone (b. 1945)
