Breast Cancer Run
On 16 September 2010, Crawford completed a 780 km run from Rundle Mall in Adelaide to the Channel 9 studio in Melbourne to raise awareness for breast cancer. He took a total of 11 days to complete the run and as a welcome into Melbourne, ran the final leg into the Channel 9 Footy Show's studio where the panel and crowd awaited his arrival. Hundreds of 'pink ladies' who were affected in some way by breast cancer showed their appreciation and support by making way for Crawford as he ran into the studio. Crawford appeared humbled and initially struggled to come to terms with what he had achieved and the stories that he had heard along the journey from breast cancer sufferers and family/friends of those with breast cancer.

Famous quotes containing the words breast, cancer and/or run:
“The night whose sable breast relieves the stark,
White stars, is no less lovely being dark,”
—Countee Cullen (19031946)
“I wish more and more that health were studied half as much as disease is. Why, with all the endowment of research against cancer is no study made of those who are free from cancer? Why not inquire what foods they eat, what habits of body and mind they cultivate? And why never study animals in health and natural surroundings? why always sickened and in an environment of strangeness and artificiality?”
—Sarah N. Cleghorn (19761959)
“My first big mistake was made when, in a moment of weakness, I consented to learn the game; for a man who can frankly say I do not play bridge is allowed to go over in the corner and run the pianola by himself, while the poor neophyte, no matter how much he may protest that he isnt at all a good player, in fact Im perfectly rotten, is never believed, but dragged into a game where it is discovered, too late, that he spoke the truth.”
—Robert Benchley (18891945)
