Shaman King Characters

The manga and anime series Shaman King features several characters created by Hiroyuki Takei. As a result of being focused on shamanism the series' cast is divided between humans and spirits, the latter not being able to go the afterlife due to their alliance with the former.

The series primarily focuses on a teenager named Yoh Asakura who reveals classmate Manta Oyamada that he is a shaman when fighting a group delinquents led by Ryu. Wishing to lead a peaceful life, Yoh has been training from an early age to become the titular "Shaman King" able to change the world's shape. In his training to become the Shaman King Manta meets several of Yoh's acquaintances, including his fiance Anna Kyoyama and his spirit partner, the samurai Amidamaru. Yoh also meets several shamans across a fighting competition to determine the Shaman King, some of them becoming his friends and enemies. The series' sequel, Shaman King Flowers, deals with Yoh's son, Hana Asakura, on his development as a shaman.

Famous quotes containing the words king and/or characters:

“Let the jury consider their verdict,” the King said, for about the twentieth time that day.
“No, no!” said the Queen. “Sentence first—verdict afterwards.”
“Stuff and nonsense!” said Alice loudly. “The idea of having the sentence first!”
Lewis Carroll [Charles Lutwidge Dodgson] (1832–1898)

No one of the characters in my novels has originated, so far as I know, in real life. If anything, the contrary was the case: persons playing a part in my life—the first twenty years of it—had about them something semi-fictitious.
    Elizabeth Bowen (1899–1973)
