As per provisional data of 2011 census, Shahjahanpur urban agglomeration had a population of 346,103, out of which males were 183,087 and females were 163,016. The literacy rate was 69.81 per cent.
As of 2001 India census, Shahjahanpur City had a population of 2,97,932. Males constitute 55% of the population and females 45%. Shahjahanpur has an average literacy rate of 73%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 81%, and female literacy is 63%.
