Wear and Usage
Sleeve stripes are only worn by enlisted personnel. U.S. Navy sailors and U.S. Army soldiers wear their stripes on the bottom cuff of the left sleeve, whereas Marines wear them at the bottom cuff of both sleeves. Soldiers wear them on the left sleeve and Overseas Service Bars on the right one. Service stripes are only worn on formal uniforms, and are not seen on the more common day-to-day working uniforms.

Famous quotes containing the words wear and/or usage:
“So tedious is this day
As is the night before some festival
To an impatient child that hath new robes
And may not wear them.”

“Pythagoras, Locke, Socratesbut pages
Might be filled up, as vainly as before,
With the sad usage of all sorts of sages,
Who in his life-time, each was deemed a bore!
The loftiest minds outrun their tardy ages.”
