Sergio Romero - Early Life

Early Life

Sergio Romero was born and grew up in a poor family in Bernardo de Irigoyen, Misiones, during another economic crisis in Argentina. His two older brothers became basketballers and due to his smaller stature in comparison to them, Romero earned the nickname 'chiquito' which means tiny.

Romero initially joined Racing Club de Avellaneda and signed his first professional contract aged nineteen in 2006.

Famous quotes containing the words early and/or life:

Our instructed vagrancy, which has hardly time to linger by the hedgerows, but runs away early to the tropics, and is at home with palms and banyans—which is nourished on books of travel, and stretches the theatre of its imagination to the Zambesi.
George Eliot [Mary Ann (or Marian)

If a walker is indeed an individualist there is nowhere he can’t go at dawn and not many places he can’t go at noon. But just as it demeans life to live alongside a great river you can no longer swim in or drink from, to be crowded into safer areas and hours takes much of the gloss off walking—one sport you shouldn’t have to reserve a time and a court for.
    Edward Hoagland (b. 1932)
