Serdang Bedagai Regency

Serdang Bedagai Regency is a regency in the Eastern shores of North Sumatra facing Malaysia, with 95 km of coastline and covering an area of 1,913.33 square kilometres, divided into 11 districts and 237 villages and 6 subdistricts Its seat is Sei Rampah. The regency surrounds chartered city Tebing Tinggi, and also has a district (kecamatan) by the same name. The name “Serdang Bedagai” was derived from two Sultanates which have ever governed in the Region; they were Serdang Sultanate and Padang Bedagai Sultanates. The population in an official intercensal estimate in 2007 was 618,656 people, and was 592,922 at the 2010 Census.
