Name Order
Serbian names are rendered in the Western name order with the surname placed after the given name. Eastern name order may be used when multiple names appear in a sorted list, particularly in official notes and legal documents when the last name is capitalized (e.g. MILOVANOVIĆ Janko).

Famous quotes containing the word order:
“To write is to make oneself the echo of what cannot cease speakingand since it cannot, in order to become its echo I have, in a way, to silence it. I bring to this incessant speech the decisiveness, the authority of my own silence.”
—Maurice Blanchot (b. 1907)
“The general feeling was, and for a long time remained, that one had several children in order to keep just a few. As late as the seventeenth century . . . people could not allow themselves to become too attached to something that was regarded as a probable loss. This is the reason for certain remarks which shock our present-day sensibility, such as Montaignes observation, I have lost two or three children in their infancy, not without regret, but without great sorrow.”
—Philippe Ariés (20th century)
